— É bom mesmo o cafezinho daqui, meu amigo?

— Sei dizer não senhor: não tomo café.

— Você é dono do café, não sabe dizer?

— Ninguém tem reclamado dele não senhor.

— Então me dá café com leite, pão e manteiga.

— Café com leite só se for sem leite. — Não tem leite?

— Hoje, não senhor. — Por que hoje não?

— Porque hoje o leiteiro não veio.

— Ontem ele veio?

— Ontem não.

— Quando é que ele vem?

— Tem dia certo não senhor. Às vezes vem, às vezes não vem. Só que no dia que devia vir em geral não vem.

— Mas ali fora está escrito “Leiteria”!

— Ah, isso está, sim senhor.

— Quando é que tem leite?

— Quando o leiteiro vem.

— Tem ali um sujeito comendo coalhada. É feita de quê?

— O quê: coalhada? Então o senhor não sabe de que é feita a coalhada?

— Está bem, você ganhou. Me traz um café com leite sem leite. Escuta uma coisa: como é que vai indo a política aqui na sua cidade?

— Sei dizer não senhor: eu não sou daqui.

— E há quanto tempo o senhor mora aqui?

— Vai para uns quinze anos. Isto é, não posso agarantir com certeza: um pouco mais, um pouco menos.

— Já dava para saber como vai indo a situação, não acha?

— Ah, o senhor fala da situação? Dizem que vai bem.

— Para que Partido? — Para todos os Partidos, parece.

— Eu gostaria de saber quem é que vai ganhar a eleição aqui.

— Eu também gostaria. Uns falam que é um, outros falam que outro. Nessa mexida...

— E o Prefeito?

— Que é que tem o Prefeito?

— Que tal o Prefeito daqui?

— O Prefeito? É tal e qual eles falam dele.

— Que é que falam dele?

— Dele? Uai, esse trem todo que falam de tudo quanto é Prefeito.

— Você, certamente, já tem candidato.

— Quem, eu? Estou esperando as plataformas.

— Mas tem ali o retrato de um candidato dependurado na parede, que história é essa?

— Aonde, ali? Uê, gente: penduraram isso aí...
